Our vision
Matt Merrell Productions seeks to provide entertaining and enriching storytelling that celebrates the magic of live theater. We seek to involve community members in all aspects of the production process creating theater that is by, with, and for the Lake Norman community. We want to provide plays that interest and amuse our audiences.
Our story
Matt Merrell Productions was founded by Matt Merrell, the former executive director of the award-winning Davidson Community Players. Matt brings nearly thirty years of experince as an administrator, director, actor and playwright to this effort. With the firm belief that community theater should feature artists from the community, Matt Merrell Productions aims to tell stories that are worth telling.
What we Do
THE MAGIC OF LIVE THEATER
There is just something about live theater that is unmatched in other art forms. You nestle into your seat, the lights go dim, and you are transported to another place. Actors bring their energy to the stage while the audience participates in the story-telling. It’s a participatory art form that lifts your spirit. In the meantime, audience members know that because it’s live, things can go wrong at any moment.
